BRITISH SMOKE ... IS IT JUST A THEORY?

The other day I was talking with a friend over morning coffee. We were both deep in life's theories and then he mentioned that all electronic wires are full of smoke. He said that "Smoke is what makes electronics work, when the smoke leaks out it stops working" He claims to have verified this with thorough testing and overwhelming accurate results.

I took another sip from the cup and said, "You're right .... Of course!" "Smoke makes all things work."

Remember the last time smoke escaped from your Lucas regulator? It stopped working! As I swallowed down the last drop it came to me. It's like the wiring harness carries the smoke from switch to light or battery to horn in all types of cars. Then whenever the harness springs a leak it's like all at once the smoke escapes and it all comes to a stop. There must be more smoke in larger wires, the starter wire especially, because I've seen tremendous amounts escape from there.

Ordering up one more cup, I continued to ponder my thoughts. Why is it that Lucas electronics leak more smoke then say .... Bosch? Well lets sort this out. Lucas is British .... and all things British leak! British convertible tops leak water .... British engines leak oil .... British hydraulics leak fluid, lets face it, even British tires leak air. I even heard once that the British Defense Department use to leak secrets, so it's only logical that British electronics leak smoke .....
